Field Trip: New Lebanon High School

Wednesday, February 16, our class went to watch the base floor slab being poured for the new Lebanon High School. The class witnessed a concrete pump truck in action on a 330 yard pour. The class received a basic lesson on how to read and understand the blueprints necessary for a pour that size.

Upon arrival, the students were able to see every process that needs to be followed in order to properly place and finish a pour of any size. Some of the procedures seen were: floating, screeding, troweling, power troweling, and power screeding. Seeing these in action gave the class a better handle on how to complete each process. The class would like to thank RGAnderson Company, inc. for allowing us to watch them in work, after meeting all safety requirements that is.
