Class Projects

The classes most recent project was forming up and spraying a fabric form GFRC sink. When using fabric as a spraying platform, the concrete takes the shape of the fabric giving the concrete a flowing look. Straying away from the conventional rough texture of concrete. This project was headed up by Ross Cramer and Tyler Bell, and Richie Roth.

Class Work in Progress

Over the past couple weeks the class has embarked on a few individual team projects from sinks to coffee table tops. Mr. Wahl inspired the class to try and be unique with their individual designs.

Concrete Decor Show 2011- Class Field Trip

The Concrete Decor Show came to Nashville, Tennessee this year and we were able to go and see the incredible things that concrete is capable of doing. The class was amazed at all the things that they saw.

Column Work

After completing chapter five in our textbook, the class decided to construct a column. The design was as close as the class could make it to a real working column. The class was split into groups to complete seperate tasks. One group was put in charge of formwork, another was for the mix design, and the last was for reinforcement. The column turned out well and is still a work in progress for further goals.

Slump Cone Contest

In Preporation for the ACI test Mr. Wahl wanted the class to practice doing the slump test. He matched students against each other to see how fast the test could be done back to back until the entire class finished the test. During the ACI test you are given two and a half minutes to complete the slump test, everyone in the class mastered the test with time to spare. The class would like to thank the special guest procter, David Brady.
